01

How magic starts

Reach Floor 10 of the mines and Caldarus grants your first spell. Every spell after that is tied to reaching a new mine biome, which makes the spell list a fairly precise readout of how deep you have been. The last two are granted by the Priestess in the Ancient Ruins.

Every spell, its unlock and its cost

Two of these — Summon Rain and Growth — change farming enough that they are worth the trip on their own.

Mana, and the three ways to get it back

Mana is a small pool, so the practical question is recovery rather than capacity.

  • It restores slowly each night after you have cast a spell.
  • Mana Potions restore it faster.
  • With the Magical Meals perk, a quality 4+ dish carrying a Magical Infusion restores 1 Mana when eaten.
04

What magic changes about your farm

Summon Rain removes the single most repetitive chore in the game — it waters every crop at once, which is worth more than any watering-can upgrade. Growth turns a 3×3 patch into an instant harvest, which matters most late in a season when there is no longer time for a crop to finish naturally.

05

What magic changes about the mines

Dragon’s Breath clears objects and monsters in a line and opens areas you cannot otherwise enter. Void Sight is passive and exists to make Void materials visible. Sacred Light exists because the Ancient Ruins are dark — five minutes per cast, so use it on arrival rather than on the way out.
