What each reaction is worth
Points do not decay and there is no way to lose them, so a bad gift costs you the day’s opportunity rather than progress you had already made.
| Reaction | Normal day | Their birthday |
|---|---|---|
| Loved | +20 | +40 |
| Liked | +10 | +30 |
| Neutral | +3 | +23 |
| Disliked | +0 | +20 |
| Hated | +0 | +20 |
No item is universally loved — but some dishes come close
There is no single item that every character loves or likes. Cooking is the workaround: infused dishes carry their reaction with them regardless of who receives them.
| Infusion | Dishes |
|---|---|
| Lovable | Cow-Shaped Donut, Queen Berry Pie, Scent of Spring |
| Likeable | Candied Queen Berries, Chicky Hot Chocolate, Floral Tea, Tulip Cake |
What never works
All bugs are universally disliked, as are junk items such as acorns, fiber, hay, newts and sod. Catching a bug is museum progress, not a gift.
Who cannot receive what
Some characters have hard restrictions regardless of preference.
| Group | Characters | Cannot receive |
|---|---|---|
| Children | Dell, Luc, Maple | Alcohol, caffeine, bombs |
| Animals | Dozy, Henrietta | Alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, bombs |
A routine that works without a spreadsheet
Keep a stack of one Lovable-infused dish in your bag for anyone whose preferences you have not learned yet, note birthdays as you hear them, and give something — anything — on the day. That alone outperforms most optimised gift routes.
