The seven tools
Pickaxe, axe, hoe, watering can, fishing rod, shovel and bug net. Each of them runs through the same five tiers, from Worn up to Mistril.
What each tier costs
Every upgrade takes four ingots of the matching metal and requires a Blacksmithing level. Crafting takes 30–40 minutes of in-game time, which Blacksmithing perks can shorten.
| Tier | Ingots | Blacksmithing level |
|---|---|---|
| Copper | 4 | 4 |
| Iron | 4 | 10 |
| Silver | 4 | 16 |
| Gold | 4 | 26 |
| Mistril | 4 | 28 |
Where tools come from
You forge them yourself through Blacksmithing, buy them from the Blacksmith once progression unlocks it, or receive them from story quests and characters — the Worn Pickaxe and Worn Net arrive this way, and Celine and Hayden hand out early tools.
Charged tools
Holding the use button charges a tool for a wider area of effect. This matters most for the hoe and watering can on a large farm, and for the pickaxe when clearing a floor rather than chasing one node.
